Custom software for working businesses

I build software for messy real-world workflows.

Full-stack software engineer since 2006. Computer geek since 1990. I understand both the code and the field side of the job.

I turn tangled processes and brittle systems into tools your team can rely on.

Typical work: custom tools, workflow automation, integrations, and hard existing web systems.

For owners and operators

The workflow is in someone’s head, a spreadsheet, or a site that almost works. You need software that fits the real job — not a template that fights it.

For technical leads

Senior full-stack and systems work: PHP and WordPress, React, integrations, Linux, and the production problems nobody put in the original brief.

How I usually help

Custom tools for how the work actually runs

I design and build the system around the real job — checklists, records, customer portals, internal tools. WordPress and PHP when that is the right chassis. A custom application when it isn’t.

When the current site or system is the problem

I diagnose production systems, fix what is failing, and leave you with something you can keep running. Recovery, performance, hardening, backups, and careful change — including Linux and hosting when that is part of the mess.

Connect the tools and remove the repeat work

Integrations and small automations that sit on the tools you already pay for. Ecommerce when the catalog and payments have to meet a real back office. If the job is a pile of copy-paste, start at FixThinks.

Ongoing updates, backups, and purpose-built hosting are available if you want one person accountable for the box.

Joshua Richet

I’m a full-stack software engineer since 2006, and a passionate computer geek since 1990. I still get restless if I’m not building something. Client work is how I make a living. The products and the occasional game are how I aim the rest of the energy.

I build and repair business software — custom apps, WordPress and PHP systems, integrations, and the Linux they run on. I’ve also done field and shop work: CNC, commercial driving, wildfire, transmission repair. That is the advantage. I can hear how a crew actually runs a job, then build the tool they will use.

I’ll tell you plainly whether software will help, or whether a process change should come first.

Tell me about the headache.

A few sentences is enough. I read these myself.
